Writer and director Jeff Baena has died.
Baena — who was married to actress Aubrey Plaza — was found dead inside his home in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday.
Consequence Film reports how authorities believe the 47-year-old died by suicide.
According to IMDb, Baena — who was born in Miami, Fla. — was best known for such indie films as “The Little Hours (2017)” and “Life After Beth (2014).” Both movies saw Plaza in leading roles.
CNN adds how Baena might be most well-known for co-writing the 2004 David O. Russell feature, “I Heart Huckabees,” starring Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin.
“As everyone mourns the loss of Jeff Baena, take a moment to remember how perfect he and Aubrey Plaza were for one another,” reads one X post. “They spent 14 years together.”
“Suicide remains a leading cause of death for men under 50,” reads another. “This news about Jeff Baena is awful, just remember it’s never a bad thing to ask for help.”
Further information regarding Baena’s death is pending as of the publishing of this report.
